With the variety of breast surgery options, patients can improve their level of confidence from the appearance of small, asymmetric, and even sagging breasts by the insertion of breast implants to become more proportionate and aesthetically pleasing. At Tampa Bay Body Sculpting we are here to guide you throughout the entire process of planning and implementing your procedure through follow up, aftercare and beyond.

What does Breast Reduction surgery entail?

Breast reduction is a surgical procedure that removes excess fat, tissue, and skin from the breasts while raising the position of the nipple on the breast mound to improve aesthetic appearance.

Disproportionately heavy and large breasts can be treated with breast reduction. Excess skin and fatty tissue will be excised while the areola will be shifted to a higher position. Areolas that have been stretched over time can be reduced in size. Typically, the areola is left connected to the underlying tissue, leaving the milk glands unaffected and allowing for breastfeeding. Excess skin previously located above the areola can be used to reshape the breast.

There are medical, aesthetic and emotional reasons why women may want to have a breast reduction, all equally important motivators in efforts to achieve a sense of well-being and maintaining a happy, active lifestyle. At Tampa Bay Body Sculpting, we are with you every step of the way providing compassionate, expert care for our patients in Tampa Bay, Florida and all around the world.

What are the benefits of a Breast Reduction?

Benefits of a breast reduction may include:

  • Improving the appearance of your breasts

  • Easing neck, back, and shoulder pain

  • Treating chronic rash or skin irritation under the breasts

  • Achieving a breast size that is proportionate to your body

  • Improving your ability to participate in physical activities

  • Enhancing self-image and confidence

  • Fitting into bras and clothing more easily

How is a Breast Reduction performed?

A small incision will be made then excess tissue, fat, and skin will be removed to achieve desired breast size followed by refining the shape of the breast and position of the nipple.

Breast Lift Surgery

You may be a candidate for Breast Lift surgery if your breasts sag with stretched skin or may have lost shape and volume due to pregnancy, age, or weight fluctuation. Breast Lift surgery may also be right for you if your areolas point downward, fall below the breast crease, or have a flat, elongated shape. Finally, breast lift surgery can address issues such as one breast being firmer, larger, or positioned differently.

A breast lift raises the nipple position and improves upper chest fullness in and out of clothes with minimal scarring. If additional fullness is needed or desired, a silicone gel or saline breast implant can refine the look of the breast.

How is a Breast Lift surgery performed?

During the procedure, excess skin will be removed while the areola and nipple will be shifted to a higher position. Areolas stretched over time can be reduced in size. Typically, the areola are left connected to the underlying tissue, leaving the milk glands unaffected and allowing for breastfeeding. To restore fullness, any excess tissue previously located above the areola can be used to reshape the breast.

During a breast lift procedure, a small incision will be made around the areola down to the crease of the breast where excess skin is then removed. Skin is then tightened and reshaped and finally relocating the nipples to a higher position. Breasts will then be much smoother and more youthful in appearance.

Breast Augmentation:

Breast Augmentation / Enlargement frequently gives women fuller, larger breasts. The ideal goal for this procedure is to maximize the available “soft tissue coverage” including the skin, breast tissue, and the muscle that covers the breast implant.

Determining factors of the outcome of this surgical procedure include your anatomy, implant size, and implant type (silicone or saline).

During your consultation, our team at Tampa Bay Body Sculpting will discuss your expectations and probable outcome. It is encouraged to have realistic expectations based on your current breast size.

What is Breast Implant Revision surgery?

Breast implant revision surgery replaces old breast implants with new implants, or modifies the breast implant pocket to improve the appearance or feeling of existing breast implants.

Why would I need Breast Implant Revision surgery?

Many times, patients may want to change or improve the appearance of their breast implants, or eliminate discomfort caused by their breast implants. They may also be looking to update the implant material. Reasons for the surgery can include a desire to:

  • Improve breast symmetry

  • Perform a breast lift or reduce breast size after implants have been placed

  • Reshape the breast implant pocket to reposition the implant on the chest

  • Change the shape or style of the breast implant

  • Treat the pain or unsightly appearance from capsular contracture

  • Address concern about implant rupture or implant migration

Since there are many possible reasons for a breast implant revision surgery, our Board Certified Cosmetic Surgeons will discuss your specific concerns and lay out the best possible options for your needs.

Breast Rejuvenation with Fat Transfer:

Gone are the days when the only way to get fuller breasts were through implants alone. Using state-of-the-art techniques and equipment, breast rejuvenation is a procedure by taking fat you already have in your body and placing it into your breasts. During your procedure, Dr. removes fat from a donor area through liposuction. The fat will then be injected into precise locations on your breasts to give them a larger, fuller appearance. Not only are you left with more youthful-looking breasts, you also end up with less fat in the stubborn areas where you were prone to store fat.

Why should I choose Breast Rejuvenation over implants?

The type of breast procedure you need really depends on your desired outcome. At your consultation, we will evaluate whether you are a good candidate for this procedure. Generally, if you desire to go up a cup size or more and simply want to regain fullness and volume in your breasts, you may benefit from a breast rejuvenation procedure. One of the main benefits of breast rejuvenation is that you’re not left with scarring as you are after an implant or lift procedure. Because rejuvenation is much less invasive than traditional breast surgeries, recovery is quicker and results are immediate.

What to expect during recovery of a Breast Surgery:

You will experience swelling, discoloration, and tightness, around the treated areas following breast surgery. You may also experience numbness in the nipple area. You will need to wear a special support bra for a few weeks after the surgery and sleep on your back. Most patients return to work within a week and can resume normal activities including light exercise after several weeks.
